Imagine if the last couple of episodes of Knight Rider had revealed that KITT had never been an AI supercomputer, but just an overworked and underpaid employee called Keith.

All along Keith had been stuck in a small room at work with no window and he had been communicating with Michael Knight via radio and remotely controlling the car whenever needed.

And Keith had always longed to own a black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am just like the one Michael Knight drove, but was unable to afford it on his crap salary. And whenever he asked for a pay rise, Devon Miles had always fobbed him off saying they couldn't afford to give him a pay rise, while they kept doing pointless things to KITT like changing his voice modulator from the solid red square to the three bars (that probably cost something like $40,000).

Then a few months after they had all resigned (everyone was on a crap salary) and gone their separate ways, after getting an awesome new job, Keith would have been able to afford the black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that he had always wanted. And as he proudly showed the photos on Facebook, a jealous Michael Knight (he didn't get to keep the car) wouldn't have given the photos any likes and then a few days later he would have unfriended Keith. And then there's a scene of Devon Miles accidentally putting diesel into the car and totally ruining it.

And then the final episode credits start rolling. A disappointing ending to something that was once beautiful and special.
