The issue I may have with Hagarty, is the limited mileage maximum of 5000, not nearly enough, what does mileage have to do with anything. Can have an accident anytime, I find the more you drive, the less likely you are to have one, keep your skills sharp.
If it is down to risk, they don't understand the term risk.
Tempted to just go back to a normal insurer, can't be arsed with all this hassle.

This is for classic car insurance though right? e.g. you do not drive it much, you do not leave it parked in public car parks or on public roads, you do not race around in it

The thing is, I drive Rosa around a lot, very careful where I leave Rosa, certainly do not race around in her, so all this brown bullish stuff from insurers is just a way of extracting money and dodging payout.
Like I said, for the peace of mind, I'll go back to SAGA, can shove Classic Vehicle Insurance where the sun doesn't shine, not worth it. So it is book value, I have the restoration pictures.
I'm with the RAC, they said if someone belts me, take the buggers to court, RAC would help, plus I fitted a permanent dash cam to Rosa for evidence.
Yes it did happen, think most on here saw the pictures, the other driver was with Aviva, they paid up, it was a big bill, taking into account hire car, re-spray of parts and Joe's time. Aviva rep said "don't worry we will get your car back to as it was", and they did.

I drive mine everyday parking in public car parks and do not consider them to be classic worthy just yet, so I completely agree with mainstream insurance right now for mine.

Ive just insured my plus with Hagerty ... a few observations based upon what I was told that may help when deciding whether to give them a call ...
1/ Your coupe cant be your daily driver and must be your 'second car' not your main vehicle and if you make a claim you will need (presumably) to show them evidence that you run another vehicle. I had to tell them the make and model of my other car.
2/ Max mileage they insure is 3k a year. You are sent a mileage declaration when you take out the policy.
3/ When setting an 'Agreed Value' they dont need to be provided with evidence if the value is less that £10k... id told them mine was £6k before being told this vital bit of info... now im thinking i might change it to £9,999
We have been approached by Lancaster Insurance regarding cover so I'll use the above as bargaining power - there seem to be rather too many restrictions with Hagerty methinks... PeteP also met the rep at the NEC.
