A couple of these have turned up for sub £20k recently.. Has anyone got any experience of them? I'll probably be looking at the early 4.2 auto.

I was looking at buying either a 911 convertible or a Maserati MC Stradale,
GC Motors in Harrogate have a really nice white one with loads of carbon bits ,so went down for a drive.

What a stunning collection of cars in one garage !!

Anyway back to the car, looks great ,lovely inside and also far more spacious inside than I would have thought ,but its only when you stand next to it you realise its a big car,

Firstly and obviously what a sound love ...even the basic one sounds amazing.

Driving ? yes I know I this was not a 'normal' gran turismo ,but still the basic bones of the car albeit raised in the MC .
I thought the steering wheel was far to big ( so did my son) ,driving position was fine, build quality was good ,nice dash.

MC;s have carbon brakes ( I know not relevant) , these ones looked great.......but where really dead to use tried my hardest to heat them up ,but no feel whatsoever hhmmm .

On the handling side ,the car does feel its size when pushing it on ,and even more disconcerting it felt heavy when changing direction definitely not chuckable and it was wet test drive ! use any more than half throttle and the rear tyres would light up sending the car sideways hmmmm.

MC shift ? felt great when pushing the car on ,thumping the gears in ,but not so hot going slower, very jerky especially on the downshifts hhmmmm.

If your looking for a drivers car, sadly this is not the one ,we loved the cars looks, sound, and interior ,but sadly down by the drive .
Maybe different if you want a fast good looking cruiser ,it would probably be ideal smile

Also checked around (and even the brilliant sales guy at GC Motors mentioned this) as expensive as a Ferrari to own and just maybe a lot more troublesome .

where did my dosh go.....after we left here we went down to Dove House and drove a 911 Carrera 4s ,SOLD everything the big Maser wasn't ,no drama, not amazing looks or sound ( does sound ok though with sports exhaust),ok inside ,but for sheer grip ,traction , ease of use and that fantastic PDK box ,easy decision to make ............the Massr just wouldn't see which way the 911 had gone

Sad ,as we both really wanted to like the Maserati ,but as a driving tool it was a let down.

was Paul S,now just paul...Member since Oct 2000,Coupe may be FATALLY injured - :(oh no it's not smile

That Maserati sure looks fantastic from the front.

I love your write-up almost blase with your choice and then sinking £65K on a beautiful motor, that's how to buy a car, no messing about. laugh

Had a passenger ride in a 911 Turbo few years back, the acceleration, speed, handling and braking forces blew my mind.
