GT28RS Setup #1620825

Excuse the ignorance, this is the first time i'm going down the tuning route with any car.

My 20vt is running on the current setup:

FMIC, SIP, GT28RS, 3" downpipe.

I've just finished this work and wont have the funds to get a remap (and uprated clutch) until around the end of the year.

I have currently set the wastegate actuator to its loosest setting and bypassed the ECU boost controller so there's basically no boost running.

Question is, is this necessary? Is it safe to have the GT28RS running off the ecu boost controller without a remap?

I have a GTEC2 chip that isn't fitted, would that help it?

Thanks

You need a remap. Period.

The problem you have is injector size for that turbo. Keep the boost low at circa 1bar (can run direct off the actuator) and you will certainly be okay (if all else is working as it should).
