I think my Coupe has sold. A chap from Liverpool has placed a deposit and will collect on Saturday. I am pleased it's going to Liverpool because it was my Dad's home town.

I have bought a Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 t-jet in electric blue. I didn't like it at first, it was like driving a tank after the Coupe, but now I am more used to it, I really love it. It doesn't get the admiring "What's that?" looks of course, but it is very practical for my doggies and it does have a bit of poke. It is the first turbo car I have ever driven and so it's a whole new experience. Lots of traffic lights fun. Ha ha ha! I am SO immature! I saw off a Focus ST yesterday. At least, I think I did, maybe he wasn't racing? Ha ha ha!

I almost bought a white Punto t-jet that had shot rear suspension, but realised at the 11th hour that I was dealing with crooks! I had to travel to Wolverhampton to get one in the end, but it was well worth it. I like the sound it makes when you gently shut the doors, and the Maserati Coupe headlights.

The red vis was my second Coupe and I have a feeling it won't be my last. So if it's OK with you guys, I'd like to still drop by now and then to read your Coupe Tales.

All the best
Anne

Glad that it's all worked out for you Annie - drop in here anytime meanwhile until you get your next coop!

Shame you are selling your Coupe Annie but it sounds like you'll be back. And a Grande Punto is a good alternative!

I bought a brand new Grande Punto back in 2007 Annie and I liked it so much that I kept it until last year.

Mine was a special order at the factory, electric blue like yours, glass opening roof and turbo diesel.

Good luck with yours.

Cheers for your replies everyone. I think this Punto has the same t-jet petrol engine as the Alfa Jiulietta and Mito. It has very lively acceleration. Two reviews I read said the steering was disappointing, that you can't "feel" where the wheels are. I don't know why this would matter? Unless you are planning to do rally driving? I love the blue, most of them were white or red, which would have been OK but the blue is very nice.

My Mum is 94 and she has been so worried about me owning a Coupe, a "racer" as she calls it. "Mum, just because it's capable of 130 doesn't mean you won't stick to 70", I have said so many times. She was so pleased about me having a little hatchback. Then I mentioned the fact that it was designed by Maserati and that it is turbo charged ...

I appreciate so much all the Coupe tips and advice I found on here, from buying a motorbike part for the petrol cap seal, to putting the water cap back on carefully so it won't get cross-threaded and leak, to how to fix the boot catch.

I am saving up for a Plus.
