Could anyone point me in the direction of a petrol cap rubber seal? I have not been able to locate one online but if anyone sees one I'd be so grateful for a link. I saw a whole new petrol cap with a seal but it was £60. Cheers!

They're the right size and material, and that's the important thing.

I just bought a brand new new filler cap - thanks for the tip off anniemac! Dusty sealed box from 1998! It's surprising just how poor they are from new, looks like it's been 'polished' with a Brillo pad and then lacquered! I think I'll keep my refurbished one and just take the seal off the new one..

I have just ordered a petrol cap seal from Johnny at Midland Car Servicing for £10. He said he had a local seal manufacturer/supplier make some up for him. I haven't received it yet though.

I bought some recently, they were off a triumph iirc, perfect fit.
I'll dig out the link.

Always seem to have too many 20VT's to count......

I am pleased to say I have now received the replacement seal and it seems to be an exact copy, fits well and very quick to install without dismantling cap. I would recommend this supplier particularly since my MoT tester wanted to fail the car on perished cap seal.

Mine arrived from triumph parts and now the coupe is back from welding and paint, I have test fitted.
Not exactly the same profile as the existing on, but it was a good fit and seems to do the job.
The old one is beginning to look a tad perished in comparison....

Anyone know the best place to get a replacement seal nowadays? That Triumph parts link sadly seems to be no more.

I can see various ones on eBay, but they appear to only be suitable for the 16V 1.8 model (which is odd, as I'd imagine the filler cap would be the same..?)

There is another solution in the How to do section.
Clicky

The sink drain seal has been on my car for at least 3 or 4 years without problems

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Thanks Pete -- that is useful to know. In the end, I contacted Midland Car Servicing, and they apparently still have some of these in stock, so hopefully will get one of those. Otherwise will start looking into O-Rings as per your suggestion!
