Just finished putting the interior back together today.
The seats were recovered in leather and alcantara. The carpet was cleaned and dyed. Center console was refinished with Plastidip. New sun visors fitted too
The headlining was done a couple of years ago. While I was at it I changed the heater matrix as it had a small leak.
Just got to get the body sorted now!!!! That might be a year or more away though.

The cloth seats I really liked but they were worn out and getting tatty.
Leather seats were the obvious choice but they are cold in winter, hot in summer and slippery when driving quick.
The leather and alcantara will take care of the leather problems.
I didn’t want the seats to look OTT but at the same time I wanted them to be unique. I think they are great and compliment the car nicely.

Any tips for cleaning and dyeing the carpet? Mine's coming out this weekend so I'll give this a go in the coming weeks smile

Cleaning the carpet wasn't the best. I just hosed it down whilst washing with liquid hand soap and vacuumed it once dry. I did think about using the jet washer, but decided the hose would be OK.
The dye was black Autobrite purchased on Ebay. It is jet black. It comes in a spray bottle so easy to use. I brushed it in with an old shoe polish brush as I applied it. Looks great and the cover is even all over. I did give it 2 coats though. This used 2 x bottles just about.
The only down side is that some of the dye did come off whilst I was reinstalling the carpet a few weeks later. It was minimal, but thought you should know not to ware decent clothes when putting it back in.

Looks great Frazer. I'm in the same camp when it comes to leather seats.

Spurred me on to start fettling mine.

Hi Toby
Nice to hear from you. It’s been a while. Hopefully see you at the 30 year anniversary!!!!
Always things to do on the Coupe. Love the forum for keeping motivated too.
In the new year I have belts to do and refurb the a/c compressor. Should keep me out of the pub I guess.
Send me a pm and let me know how you are doing.
Frazer
