Has anyone got a 1/18 model (in good nick) they are thinking of selling on?

I have an enquiry from a member of the public who would like to buy one as a present for her significant other and the makers have sold out. The one for sale on ebay is going for a steep £150 frown

Looks more like the matchbox size one to me - I've got one on the dash of my car!

Ok so the owner is based in Ireland and the model is an intended present from his other 'alf. There's a bid going on for the 1/18 and potentially a favourable price being negotiated.

Next week they're taking a road trip over to Edinburgh then down through the N of England - I'm a bit stowed out with grandwains atm but ideally would like to take up suggestion of coffee on Sunday morning. Of course I've hinted to the lady that she encourages him to join the forum smile

That's a 1/43 scale model - the OP is looking for the much larger 1/18 scale

I have a surplus 1/18 that has never been out of the box that I might be persuaded to part with for the right money... ;-)

Would you like me to put her in touch with you Nigel?

It should be said that she is negotiating with the Ebay seller on that listed price so it's unlikely he'll get the full whack...

That's because its the sought after Coupe - where the suspension, Cambelt, CHOD, Yellow Fuse of Death and peeling lacquer are all sorted out!

Lol

Was it really?

How much did we pay through the group buy?

Err no, I think more like £80 but the group buy was around £50 IIRC. But it was a limited production run and rarely available now, hence the higher price. I bought a yellow one a year ago for £64 to go with the blue ones smile

Yep I have a memory of up to £80 incl. p&p for the latest broomy, but more like Dave's £64 for my first (group buy) sprinty

Yes, DaveG is correct I just looked it up. "The delivered price to club members is £49.00 and to non-members £51.50" The club had a batch of 50 models, all of which were sold..

Agreed smile

I'm beginning to wonder if I was a bit late on the 2nd one - about a year ago as DaveG says - hence the slightly higher price I'm recalling...

The blue ones were in a special group buy that the club got in return for us helping get Fiat's permission for Ottomobile to make the models.

This was not needed for the yellow ones so people had to pay the full Ottomobile price ( which was still reasonable)

Spotted in a model shop just weeks ago on lake garda at 150 euro but as much as I want I'm not willing to part with 150 euro.

I sold it to the lady the other day if it was the same one through eBay for her partner.
They collected it a couple of days ago , very nice people
They were on the way to see a coupe specialist.
It was a yellow one and I still have my blue one .

Ah so it was yourself! - Yes they were coming over to Edinburgh from Ireland, then as you say, via the Lakes.

We think they were "spotted" in Princes St, Edinburgh last Sunday, an R reg broomy smile

She's never got back to say she finally got it though after the bidding war wink

My goodness I now realise I should have come and taken a look here before placing a post on the club Facebook page. I had not realised just how huge the demand would be for the OTTO model, I've had so many PM's today!

One of my two has gone to a friend, and someone from the Coupé owners club. Sold at a reasonable price for both parties, I hope.

Really not sure about letting the other one go though.
