21st 1 lb for me this morning Doing more exercise in my new job now, but due to being at home more in the evenings, am drinking more beers, so calories are balancing out to maintain my weight rather than lose any My plan for this year is the same as every year Eat healthier and cut back on the beers and to find some willpower from somewhere! Good luck to anyone starting a healthier year this year and well done to those who already have ( jimboy for example)

Anyone else up for this? I'm planning to start on Monday. Cutting back on alcohol (my main downfall these days). Going to eat more protein to feel fuller for longer and possibly go back to the 5:2 diet, which has worked well for me in the past. I'm averaging 15,000 - 19,000 steps or more at work each day now, which is burning calories, but I'm drinking them in the evenings, so am maintaining my weight rather than losing it Aiming for a 6 stone loss this year, which will take me down to 15 stone.

If you can get away from the beers, then I would suggest having a look at the Keto diet (high fat, medium protein, low carb). I've been doing this for the past 18 months and lost about 2.5 stone, but allowed me to carry on drinking spirits If your curious about it, have a look at Keto UK Community on Facebook. One of the moderators of the group has lost over 7.5 stone in a year by following it

I stepped on to the scales on the weekend and got a shock, 98.4 kgs, (15.5 st). I've never been that heavy, I've put on about 5 kgs in the last 12 months. I had 2 bouts of heart surgery last year and some medication side effects is difficulty in exercising and weight gain. I can't stop the medication, so I'll just have to get off my arse more and move. I've been walking about 2 kms of a morning before work and I managed to pick up a standing desk for my office before the xmas break, so hopefully I can turn things around from here on in.
