As title guys, A big hello from Rome, Italy..
Back to me and the coupé 2.0 16v N/A i've been given, along with a 1992 Lancia thema 2.0 16v non turbo which has the same engine as the coupè..
I'd like to ask you guys, who have owned your coupès and have a lot more experience than me, a few questions
regarding a few things i'm trying to figue out.
Can someone tell me what the spare switch that has a white spot on it is for? It's
located last one on the right above the digital clock.

What are the 3 relès used for that are located beside the coolant expansion bottle? these relès
normally have a black plastic cover but it's missing..

Anyone know where i can find a spare timing belt cover rubber gasket from? mine's rock hard and seeing as i have to renew
the timing, balancer shaft belt, water pump and a/c compressor, ideally i'd like to renew it.

The bonnet struts, does the coupè only have one locking strut fitted on the right hand side and a normal stut on the left or should there be two
locking struts both sides??

My passenger side front seat won't lock in place after i recline it to let somebody in the back, i have to physically lock
it back in place using the underseat lever, is it normal behavior? the driver's seat does lock though.

Has anyone ever managed to actually buy a complete balancer shaft belt kit?? i can't find the cogged teeth wheels anywhere! only the
bearings can be obtained apparently and seeing as i live in Italy, where these cars were made, i find it a bit absurd.. I can never find for them to buy online, even though they were fitted to loads of different Fiat/Lancia/Alfa engined models..

Sorry for all the questions guys, i tried the search but didn't get much relevent info.
Cheers.

If it's the button next to heated rear window it's where the alarm led/light would be if fitted.
The bonnet gas strut only has a lock one side.
The passengers seat may need lubricating or is there a missing spring?
Someone else maybe to help with the other questions as sorry I can't

Try this bloke. He tracked down some NOS parts for my 131 when I was in Italy about 5 years ago.

Hi and welcome smile

Passenger seat = common fault, the locking carriage underneath becomes detached.

Push the seat right back to re-engage it.

As above, just one locking strut with red cap, make sure ANYONE going near the bonnet "knows" to release the cap before closing.

Later models had two plain gas struts..

Thanks again, Photobucket.

Regarding the balance shaft belt, a lot of people remove it, without gaining noticeable vibrations. Except having one less belt to worry about, there is the added benefit of keeping the bearings on the middle of the balance shafts in better condition, in order to avoid oil pressure loss from there... that's my opinion at least.

That button with the white dot? It's the ejector seat, but it only works if you have a sunroof... tongue

I haven't found the need to remove the balance shaft, or to lock it off, but one further potential advantage is that you can (if they're still available) get a 25mm wide cambelt conversion instead of the usual 19mm.

But that said, change the belt at 36,000 miles / 55,000 km or three years. If it goes, it's an engine wrecker...
