How are Scottish people dealing with this?

It's due to start in Wales on Monday 2nd March - my birthday of all days! frown

Trying to work it out and it looks like a 4x500ml pack of my favourite lager from Lidl will rise from £3.19 to around £5 frown

Will it be worth driving the 15 miles to England to stockpile laugh

Looks like this will be my answer to losing weight laugh

It’s really only the real cheap lager and spirits that got affected by the minimum price

I’m teetotal so it didn’t affect me
The sugar tax on the other hand is having a big effect as
At least 90% of me is made of sugar hehe

Looking forward to seeing it it makes you loose pounds or just your purse loosing pounds lol

Didn't realise it was happening in Wales too. I'm not in Scotland so no experience but does seem like a crazy idea to me, particularly as it punishes those who are less wealthy disproportionately. And also, the beneficiaries are just those selling it because they aren't allowed to discount.

It is education that is needed and a change in culture. The French don't seem to have problems to the same extent as we have but wine and beer are a lot cheaper there than here in supermarkets so it has to be more than a price issue.

And as an addition, you share the same birthday as I have Theresa, have a great day on Monday!

If I remember rightly, it's also DantheMancs (from this forum) birthday on Monday too and also Jon Bon Jovi's (not from this forum) laugh

I'll be 48 years old and possibly scanning the alcohol free options or Pepsi Max laugh What a great day it will be laugh

Statistically, if you're in a room of 7 people 2 of you are likely to have the same birthday, or it could be a room of 10 people, I can't remember. Statistically, I could be wrong.

With twenty-three people the odds are 50:50 that two will share a birthday.

But the right day to have a birthday is, of course, march 1st.

Hopefully not working, but no doubt will get some emails - self employed so no real days off! 57 this year shocked

I was born the wrong year for that to be possible!

Nah, I'd have had to wait another hundred and sixty years for my pension smile

Actually, I missed the 29th by twenty minutes.
