My Dad, being almost 98, and an ex veteran from Op Torch and Husky, was one of the ex-service VIPs to take the march past today in Edinburgh. There was also a reception planned at Edinburgh Castle yesterday evening for WW2 vets. It would have been a great couple of days for him and my Mum but now with flippin Covid it's all gone to pot . Rumour is they may rearrange events for VJ Day but who knows how it's all going to unfold over the next few months..

Sorry you won't be able to make that Alan and bummer for them and many others that the celebration is in dry dock. Fingers crossed..

Aye I can only echo Simon, would have been an amazing emotional time. Woke up this morning to the radio & all the war time stories are being remembered & of course people meeting up again on VE day, bloody hell I was chocking back the tears. �(
