Hi,

I want to upgrade the sound system. Speakers on my 20vt are still original. What can I fit for the tweeters while it still looks original?

A how to suggest 0,75 inch:

Though several sets have 1 inch, like this one:

This comes with tweeters that will fit after a bit of modification to the existing housing:
Alpine SPG-17CS
The woofers and grills are a direct fit and sound great also!

Thanks. If I choose Alpine, I wanted to choose the S-series of Alpine instead of the G-series.

The Alpine site is not consistent in the presentation of the dimensions.

The tweeter of the SGP-17C:
20mms => which makes it 0,8".

The tweeter S-S65C:
Tweeter Type: 1" Wide-Range Silk Dome
Frame: 37.8 mm
Dome: 26.6 mm
Height: 17.4 mm

It looks the S65C tweater is slightly larger.
I will send Alpine an e-mail to check.

I measured the coupe tweeter housing. Keeping most of the housing intact, the maximum diameter of the tweeter can be 37mm. One inch equals 25,4 mm so it should be possible. I will give it a try.

Personally fitted the Alpine SPG-17CS. They sound great, are cheaper and have better reviews on Amazon. The tweeter fits in beautifully - you just have to remove the thin flanges inside the tweeter housing and glue them in. They come with crossover as well. The bass is simply astonishing from the woofers.
