Anyone see the Lotus Esprit restoration on this show? Thought it was excellent, athough the interior, which was immaculate, was absolutely hideous IMO.

Still, I think the car design has aged really well. Must be the Italian design. wink

I agree. Looked great from the outside. That interior would need sunglasses or at least headache tablets. And the fumes from the glue. laugh If it was mine I might have been tempted to put some leather seats in there instead.

The original Lamborghini Countach also looks wonderful. No big wings, swollen wheel arches. Just a pure design. The lotus had the same ethos.

Yup. There's wanting to be original, and then there's going too far. I'd have replaced with leather or at least some inoffensive fabric. With bright orange paint, I think black leather would be ideal. Would still look 70's.

But hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
