Hi all , my 20v na has been stood for four weeks in the garage (holiday ) today I went to start it and move it out the garage for a spin round the block and the clutch pedal was on the floor. Checked brake/clutch reservoir and it was empty , topped it up.
Any suggestions for the first thing to look at master cylinder etc? Or cable? It was fine when parked .
Any help much appreciated .

If the pedal remains on the floor despite best efforts, beeding etc, suspect your slave cylinder - under the battery cover.

If having topped it up and bled it, you can return the pedal to normal position but it slowly sinks while idling, unfortunately it may be master cylinder. These are impossible (that we know of) to obtain new now so you'd be looking at a known s/h replacement.

On this forum I read about the clutch master cyclinder being unavailable before. But they are offered on ebay. Are these incorrect or is there an issue with a RHD version and not with a LHD version?

A quick removal of the battery tray will help, if there’s a signs of brake fluid then it will be the slave

I found the slave exchange doable and the part is not expensive. I did it as a precaution since the rubber boot looked worn. Mistake I made is that initially I did not tighten the bolts enough, there is quite some force applied on the the cylinder when in use which resulted in a clunking noise. Don’t forget to bleed the brake fluid afterwards.
