Morning all, old/new member here, owned my neglected 16vt since 2004, she has finally seen the light again after 4 years of being parked up. Any ideas what to do/check before I try to resurrect her again? Thanks in advance

At least Engine oil/filter, cambelt and balance shaft belt and a good look over would be a starting point.

take plugs out, put a drop of oil down each cylinder and get the pistons moving freely up and down nicely

also, before trying to start, take the filter off let some air get into the engine properly, when its up n running put it back on, uh, unplug the inejctors or pull the fuse/relay for them or the fuel pump - chuck some cheap oil in (this will take all the shit out after cranking to build oil pressure) then as just stated crank it over to get oil back into the galleries then drain it, then again chuck more cheap oil in but leave the plug OFF and leave it to flush straight out the bottom.
this is what i would do anyway. aswell as what i said earlier.
