Unfortunately my Coupe is giving me pain in my right knee and hip, neither of my other vehicles - a VW Transporter and Focus MK1 - make me feel this way. Has anyone used spacers to raise their seat height or alternatively a different seat to remedy this situation?

Many thanks,

Andrew

Could it be the throttle pedal angle?

I found mine was giving me cramp and I had adjusted a few years back. Tricky to get just right though as it can prevent full throttle if overdone.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about that being a possibility.

I've ordered a cushion pad to see if that makes any difference. Perhaps the height adjustable Hyundai Coupe seat will be the answer. Or do any other car seats, maybe Fiat, fit the coupe?

As I recall from dim and distant days, the Hyundai coupe seats have been used in the past to this end. Nigel might be able to recall?

Hi,

What makes a difference is removing the subframe of the seat and then using a piece of 4mm or 5mm flat steel , drill holes in it to fit the seats using the mounting points of the subframe as a template. Then mount the steel plate to the floor, again using the subframe as a template. Especially the back of the seat is lowered bij about an inch, which is much better. Driving position is better and there is more headroom.

You can use the original bolts and mounting points of the car.

Hope this helps. What Nigel did inspired to do this and it feel much better driving the car. Now you sit in the seat instead of on top of it.

Henk

Thanks for the suggestions. Altered the seat and steering wheel positions today, now for another journey to test.

Car seat cushion bought from Ebay seems to have worked.
