The World Cup!

Astonishing no-one has mentioned it at all shocked

To think the whole event was staged in booze-free stadia (ok, you can go to other licensed premises) where zillions of far-travelled supporters seemed to have displayed exemplary behaviour as well as fantastic support, is a great example of what-can-be for future tournaments.

Lots of goals, legends, new nation-heroes and a nail-biting finale with a fitting end to a possible G-O-A-T's career (though it's just been said that it may not be after all laugh ) made this a cracker.

Yes there were darker undertones - even in the closing ceremony it was very interesting to note the French President being serially ignored by the participants - and was it a mistake to hold it there in the first place? Debate....

BumbleBee back:)
