This hasn't been a great Coupe year so far.

I've spent most weekend's since spring staring up at the sheets of rain, muddy roads and wash off from the fields...and just not felt too inspired to get the Coupe out in such weather. Work, and the never ending demands on time mean the few times the weather has been good - I've not been free to drive her.

Today was set to be a good example. I've got a list of diy to do as long as your arm. But had promised myself to take her out tomorrow if the weather was good. But while out cutting the grass this morning, a strange, orange thing has appeared in the sky-after an hour or so of dedicated gardening - I couldn't resist any more...I downed tools, checked the oil, fired her up and went through a few double checks (a recent worringly low rear tyre has had me checking and double checking tyre pressures).

A quick dust down- a few checks (I even checked the spare tyre pressure- 37psi-should be 50+!!) and she should be ready for tomorrow. If the weather holds. Time for her to go back in to the garage-already.

Except I didn't put her back in the garage...

I looked at the sunshine, the nice warm countryside...and I slipped in to the driving seat and just took her out for a good old fashioned 30 minute blast.

Gently at first, let everything get warm, let the suspension and tyres all come back to life. And then when she was all warmed up, windows down and time to listen to the five pot work. Nothing stuipd- just holding her in gears and letting her work through the rev range where the road allowed.

What a total hoot! I've just come back for leaving her gently ticking down outside.

Roll on tomorrow.

Hope you all get a chance to take yours out for some fun this weekend too. Life is far too short and dull sometimes.

Regards

MM

My son and I had a busy couple of hours today

My son did almost all of the work as my back is buggered and I am also suffering with peripheral neuropathy, which means I can't feel very much in hands arms, legs and feet.

Anyway my coupe was treated to a new set of top mounts at the front, and at the rear , new dampers and hub and bearings on both sides.

it should be a more comfortable ride to Brands Hatch in the morning as the old top mounts were completely shot and one of the rear dampers was on its way out.

The noises from the rear end were sorted last week - sticky caliper and today we replaced the hubs and bearings as one of them was starting to make a slight noise.

Alternative Autos came up trumps with the parts. Thanks Steve.

Hopefully that is it mechanically for a bit.

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.
