I want to know the fuel/air ratio so I´m thinking about putting my car on the RR. If I understand things correctly the engine can´t function properly w/o the lambda sensor. So if they (the RR company) unplug my lambda and plug in the Broadband lambda the engine will run pretty badly.
So how do you install the Broadband lambda

They either stick a probe up the exhaust (if you still have a cat fitted i don't think it will work)

Or you can have a boss fitted to your existing downpipe and plug in the wideband to that.

You can also get wideband lambda that can provide a narrow feed for your ECU, but also wideband accuracy to a controller. So this would fit into your existing boss on the downpipe.

Don't you need an Internet Service Provider for Broadband? If you don't have one, try Dial Up instead, after all you don't need to know the air/fuel ratio when the ECU is not switched on...

Sorry Freddan, that's a bit mean of me playing on words, it's just that it's Friday and I've got a day off in lieu after being away and coming through Heathrow yesterday

1. Imagine a pipe that you need to mount the sensor to. Drill a hole the size of a bottle top, then weld a big fat washer to it. Then cut a thread in that hole and the lambda can scew into it.

I've asked for this to be moved to tuning.

The ECU igoneres the lambda reading on wide open throttle, so it doesnt matter that they unplug your lambda and use their own one

there's is a wideband lambda and is the correct one to use to measure the fuelling.

Don't worry ,it will all be fine.

Okay so the name is wideband not broadband as I said It´s okay for me if you move this to the Tuning section.

Thanks for the answer. Just one more Q.
How do you get the boost figures? From the ECU or do I just have to check the boost gauge?

I will soon do my first RR session .

A lot will just check the boost guage, but some will plug in their own boost readers into one of the pipes, they just use a t-piece, so they won't damage anything and afterwards put it back the way it was

Please let us know how you got on, always interesting to hear about RR figures

I just bought the Innovate Motorports LC-1 wide band kit. It can simulate a narrow band signal for the ecu so it simply replace the oem sensor. I hope to have it fitted this week-end.

Worth to mention maybe is that an AFR value is rather worthless without corresponding rpm log.

would anyone know how much of an influence it would be to
the AFR readings with a wideband sensor up the tailpipe,
when running with/without a cat?

I checked Fiat's service CD and the quoted AFR figures with
and without cat vary a great deal.

Quick Q (hopefully a quick answer). Feel so

Do anyone know the right socket wrench size for the lambda sensor? M18x1.5?

i think its M22 to be honest or M27 but its out in the garage at the moment. Check an online parts shop for the socket size as its a standard size
I usually use a mole grip device or adjustable wrench on it

yes , 22 mm.

I am going to buy a normal 22 mm long-body socket and
cut a slot.

depends on what kind of wb it is. with my innovate wb i can take the 0-1v lambda signal from the analog output of the lambda. so you can put your wb in the original place of the lambda and get two signals(0-1v and 0-5v) from the wb probe. on WOT it won't matter anyway because the ecu ignores the lambda signal.

when measuring from the tailpipe you have to be 100% there are no air leaks in your exhaust otherwise it will show a leaner mixture than it actually is.

Okay I try 22 mm then.
Is the threaded hole, for the lambda sensor, M18x1.5?
