Close to three years ago, I wrote my 'End of an era' #1 thread, after I sold my modified 20vt Plus after several years of on/off half-hearted attempts.

Now it's time for another End of an Era. Paul and Svetlana Gilbert have finally called it a day after many years of providing an epic service to the Coupe community - Motormech has now closed down for good.

Do a search for 'Motormech' on this forum, or on Google and you'll get many, many instances of going the extra mile (which to be fair is not unique - all of the Coupe specialists I've come across over the years go to massive lengths to help owners).

Enjoy taking it a bit easier Paul & Svet bowtie

Gosh that is sad news for local owners but best wishes to them for the future (?retirement) - I only went there once maybe 20 years ago with my 16vt and they were great to deal with.

A shame indeed, but all things come to an end. Best wishes to them both.

Yes, very best wishes to them both. I took both of my Coupes to Motormech, every year from 2004 for servicing or major work, until we moved to France.

Used to look forward to a day in Birmingham whilst Paul sorted whatever needed sorting!

I hope they enjoy whatever they do next.
