Hi, I am currently having some mods added to my 20vt at a local motorsports garage (advocult).
Previous set up - chipped (not sure what), billet turbo chra, sports cat.
New set up - ported head (slight), hybrid turbo, larger intercooler, 3" exhaust.
The plan being to get this to FC performance to be mapped (when I can get in touch).
I appreciate it's not going run too well until mapped so have bought a gtec2 chip to put in till I can get it mapped. The garage are not too keen on 'chips' - they seem pretty knowledgeable and motorsports specialists but not familiar with coupes - and have suggested a different ECU and custom map meaning ++£1000s. I don't want to go down that route.
So I'm not sure what to do, keep existing chip, gtec2, get an original chip, or is there some where else who can get me mapped until I can get to FC Performance?
Any advice?

Providing you are not changing the injectors the standard chip will cope with the closed loop fueling i.e keep the speeds legal and stay below 3.5krpm HOWEVER, I would stay off heavy boost, actually boost completely if you can, until you have it remapped. Open loop fueling will be the issue where it could run lean.

Hi, injectors not changed. I haven't got a standard chip, just what's in the car now (unknown) or a gtec2. Are these more risky do you think, even if I drive carefully as above?

The lambda integrator function allows for a fueling enrichment or enleanment of about 23% so stay on closed loop and off the boost and you'll be fine IMO
