Hi all,
I have a Sprinty 20vt. Over the last few months, various items in the engine bay have been replaced. While the front end was off, the turbo was reconditioned as there was some play there and Essex Turbos kindly upgraded it so it's good to stage 2 (although not called a Hybrid).
I have a Direnza radiator, 3inch downpipe and race cat with full stainless exhaust too, and predictably the car runs poorly (I think over-fueling).
I have asked about a remap locally and they recommend a standalone ECU which is around £2K.
I'm trying to find someone else that will map it (FC performance?) but will I also need a FMIC? Or can a map tie the mods together. I'm not looking for huge power, I was hoping for a bit more response especially lower down the rev range.
Thanks in advance!

Leighton at FC Performance is your man - if you can get hold of him!

He has a deserved reputation for coupé-mapping.

There's no reason it should run poorly due to those mod's even with a standard chip. I'd get the poor running problem sorted before looking at further tuning.

Thank you Edinburgh! I've tried calling to no avail. The FC Performance site contact page is throwing me errors too. But I will keep trying....

Thanks ExCoupe. I'll dig a little more. The only thing I can think of now is thermostat as everything else is pretty much new! Smoke tested, compression good, MAF good, etc

Is there any reason why you suspect the thermostat? What is your temperature gauge reading when fully warmed up?

Is the injector warning light flashing occasionally?
