Hi there!

Thinking of returning to coupe ownership after about 16 years. Hopefully the forum is still being used 👍.

I have my eyes on a moon grey 20vt6 that's for sale. Ran a vehicle check and it's coming back as a 20v model 🤔. Same thing when I check for insurance. Did they ever make a 20v moon grey version? Saying that tho, it's also coming back as silver.... Which I can see why they may think that. After talking to the guy on messenger and seeing pictures/videos of the car it seems like an honest car. However the fact it's coming back as a 20v is ringing alarm bells......

Miles on the mot seem to add up to the vehicle check.

Any faults?

I don't know the car so can't offer specifics, but I think it is possible that it was registered wrong from new. I remember posts about Plus models not being recorded correctly.

I think the only way really is to use the VIN, perhaps at Fiat to see what it was built as. Colour and engine would have all been recorded. Also if it's not too far maybe take a look under carpets etc.. There was a time when moon grey cars were seen as the most desirable. Maybe it's had a paint? On point about it being a VT6 I assume it has the turbo engine, 6 speed gearbox and Brembo brakes?

Yes if it's six-speed that's almost certainly a vt6 - the only 20v I've come across with a six-speed was a conversion and a labour of love; it needs a different steering rack to accommodate it!

Plus one for incorrect registering from new.

Wow. It's amazing that this forum seems to still be as strong with active members as it used to be. Thanks for the quick replys. Much appreciated.

So yeah it's a six speed. White dials. Push button start. Brembo. As far as I'm aware it's the only coupe for sale on piston heads if you are interested in seeing it. I don't really want to post the link as, as I've said it seems like an honest car. The guys put alot of work into it and don't want to give it bad name. I also don't think someone would put this much work into making a non turbo model a 20vt6 model. But I maybe wrong.

I'm due to view it Sunday. It's only when sorting insurance quotes i noticed If it was registered incorrectly. How does one go about getting it registered correctly... The car is far from me. 5 hours away. So not exactly down the road haha.

It looks a nice car. Clearly been busy with it. And as you say looks to have all the right bits.

You'd need to send off the logbook and request a change of details. I can't se that you'd need send any evidence as you're building/ refining the description. Log book change

Good morning all,

This is my car which is currently for sale, ikon is planning on viewing the car tomorrow. It was advertised on this forum & the original listing is still available in the for sale archive.

See post by AFPU dated 03/05/2019 Moon Grey Coupe for Sale.

I bought it view Ebay after someone else purchased it from this forum. It is a 20VT6 speed, hope this helps.

Thanks,

Lee.

Hi Lee, I think your "hands-up" attitude is much appreciated and the spirit of openness is very much part of this forum's ethos smile

Can you shed some more light on the post you referred to? AFPU is no longer listed on here as a user, probably culled due to GDPR regulations if they haven't been on the forum for a good while, so their posts are no longer visible.
