Well today was my first day of my part-time PhD at Edinburgh University. Wow did I feel old amongst the undergrads and experienced ageisim right from the start - no free pizza or falafel for me or notices for societies thrust in my hand apart from an invite from the students socialist workers party. Must of looked like an aged radical Didn't have the energy to go to the union either for cheap snakebite and jaegers but preferred a cuppa and shortbread back at the hotel . First day survived and er about 1000 days to go

Lol. At the moment finishing my dissertation after 8 years. I remember at the start I attended graduate school trainings. Once in a training a young chinese phd candidate regarded me as an equal until he discovered my age: shocked he remarked I had the age of his father.
