So I've gone for the painted look rather than the polished look. I brought Halfords spray paints and I'm happy with the finish, I've yet to put the clear on. Do I need to heat the covers etc... before I put the clear on, after I put it on or not at all?

Cheers, Chris.

I would say no, just flatten the paintwork off a little and apply the clear lacquer. Then post some pics.

I used hammerite aerosols to do mine and didn't use the lacquer as they dont go well together

Cheers. I'll post some pictures of the coil pack cover tomorrow and I'll hopefully have the cam cover done by the middle of next week. The coil pack cover is gold to match the brakes (which I hope to do later this year) and the cam cover will be red to match the inlet manifold, strut bar, turbo cover, horns etc..

Here we go, they're not the best pictures as it doesn't show the metallic very well but you can see how shiney it is.

That's gorgeous . I'm not sure about the pink hoses though. I was thinking dose anyone now if the hoses can be sprayed? It's not like they're very flexible.

Looks nice, but you really need to tidy up that fuel rail and plenum chamber to match . Here's my latest look:

Looks lush Phil, i am thinking of doing the plenum chamber and inlet but as always its time and mostly dosh isnt it??

Jamie i actually gave it to the bodyshop in the garage i used to work in they base coated it then oven sprayed it in the colour then oven again. £20 cash later taaaa-daaaaa

Not sure what paint it was but i am hoping with the baking in the oven it should last a while
There was someone on here that sprayed his in a room with a very well thought of spray booth (well done that man ) and he went to halfords and i think asked them to make a tin of the the paint.

You thinking of doing yours now then?
