My head unit always rattles like mad - mostly noticable on bumpy roads etc. It's all "clicked" in place but seems that deep within the dash it's not very secure. Does anyone else have this problem and know of a way to make it more secure??

I know on some units there is a little piece of round metal to sort of locate it in a hole at the back in the centre to stop it wobbling about over bumps but don't think mine has this?

Any help much appreciated.

I just looked at mine today to fix the rattles, and noticed that although my HU has a rubber plug on the back, there is nowhere at the back for it to locate into!

Get your head around the back of the centre console with a torch and have a look. At the back of the HU, it should be resting on a foam pad but you'll probably see about a 6mm gap between the top of the HU and the top of the slot for the HU. I forced some pieces of a sponge cleaning cloth in at each corner and the HU is finally nice and secure.
