KP, this adaptor, is it not what you mention on the prevoius page of this thread as the UK sourced flange for £50? Or is that something different?

can we get hold of 'em yet? Or when available? I think this is what Jayell's trying to get hold of to fit his 28R to the std downpipe

Just awaiting a reply from someone on here regarding the oil feed pipe an thats it sorted for me and the adapter flange and ill be able to report back how it all goes and if it got the right parts list but by the lack of response from ATP im not looking to help them out anymore in organising a group buy or make the adapter plate up so will give them the minimum amount of business i can to get by

600 quid, give or take a couple of quid, after postage, but I think the UAE has a very high courier tariff or whatever it's called

Hi Will,

We have all the information you sent to us for the 20v application. The development team will continue to review and work with the info. We don't have a solid timeline on completion so it's difficult to estimate delivery on the adapter.

Please email your list of parts across so we can prepare a special order for you if you want other things shipped now.

We can do the something similar for your group of friends.

Thanks!

I have to say that so far they've impressed the hell out of me - handled the order instantly, have got back to a couple of emails really quickly, etc. It's a shame that they can't get the last 5% of this kit together because they're giving the impression of not being interested, and I don't think that's the case.

Digged up from the old forum for you all...

Quote

1. Jack the front of the car up.
2. Remove the undertray. 6 bolts and about 12 screws holding it to the front bumper on mine.
3. Remove the connectors from the fans. 2 fan connectors, and 2 connectors on the resistor. Unclip the wiring from the top of the radiator.
3. Drain the radiator. Pull the hose off the bottom. Then disconnect the hoses from it
4. On a non-air-con car, it's probably easier to get the radiator out the top. Or you can drop it out the bottom. It's in two rubber-grommeted holes at the bottom, so if you're going up you may have to pull. If you're going down there are 4 bolts holding the mounting bracket to the chassis. On mine they were very rusty.
5. If you're struggling to get the radiator out, it may be easier to detach the fans from it. There are only 4 bolts holding it on.
6. Remove the lambda probe from the exhaust downpipe. You can do this with a special socket, but I just used an adjustable spanner.
7. Remove the heatshield. There are 2 bolts at the top, and one at the bottom.
8. Underneath the car, remove the small bracket that protects the turbo oil drain pipe from the exhaust heat. It's held on with 2 * 10mm bolts. Then remove the oil drain pipe.
9. Remove all the other oil/coolant pipes you can from the turbo. When you remove the oil pipe on the top of the turbo be careful not to lose the washer!
10. Remove the joint that holds the turbo to the exhaust downpipe. The back bolt can be a bit fiddly to get to.
11. Loosen the 4 bolts holding the turbo to the exhaust manifold. Don't remove them just yet.
12. Underneath the car, unbolt the bracket that holds the turbo to the engine block. You may only need to remove the 2 * 13mm bolts. I found this quite tricky
. The manifold bolts will take the weight of the turbo while you do this.
13. Remove the 4 manifold bolts. The turbo should drop right out.

Then send the turbo off, wait a while and get it back.

Refitting:
I found it hard to get the turbo connected the exhaust downpipe, so you may want to do this first. Under the car, if you remove the 4 * 17mm bolts holding the plate under the downpipe up, you get more flex in the system.
Then I did the manifold bolts, then the turbo mounting bracket.
The rest is the reverse of removal.
Before starting the car, you need to prime the turbo with oil, so remove the connections from the coilpacks, then turn the car over 'til the oil pressure rises.
In terms of what to replace, you may want to replace the Fiat pipe clips with new ones.
If I've missed anything, I'll make amendments where suggested.

Anyone tried the GT28RS 'upgrade' - GT2871R on the 20VT?

I'm guessing that it might lag by an extra 500rpm but flow more > 5000rpm. Based on the following comparison of some unnamed car:

[image]http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/images/release062104/gt2871r_dyno.gif[/image]

P'haps its into overkill territory now tho?

I think its a bit overkill really and only if your going for massive power before a 2.4 conversion or such like really...
