I bet it's breathing like a barsteward now with your other mods !!
When I got the PA FMIC fitted it replaced the standard i/c - felt like the car had grown an extra set of lungs

I have a pa fmic and it’s just waiting for me to fit it. How much of the under tray have you had to remove and did you have the straight induction mod as well.

I have a pa fmic and it’s just waiting for me to fit it. How much of the under tray have you had to remove and did you have the straight induction mod as well. If you lay the undertray flat you will see there is a raised section which gets in the way of the intercooler and pipework. You need to chop this out and a little more of the surrounding area and you should be ok. One thing is that it's a nightmare to do, I used a hacksaw and sweat... Make sure you do it outside and/or use a protective mask as the dust created seems very harmful. Or just don't use an undertray.

Hopefully this thread will run and run, and people will finally realise that a good FMIC, such as the PA, ACTUALLY MAKES YOUR CAR GO FASTER, AS WELL AS MAKING IT SAFER !!
Yes, I was shouting People seem to think it's a safety precaution, and therefore boring. Wrong.

Doesn't everyone ? It made a BIG difference to mine on the standard tubby as well, the 28R wasn't fitted until 4 months or so later.

an airsaw makes undertray cutting a 2 minute job, if you have access to one.
otherwise a hacksaw or jigsaw will do the trick.
Yep Im tempted to take mine into work tomorrow and use the dyna file on it (compressed air file) the angle grinder just melted the plasic and made it difficult to remove. Im getting bored of offering up the undertray now only to find that it needs more taking off. Its a pig of a job to do on your own but I'll make it fit if it kills me !!

oh my god i cant belive the f**king different between the pro alloy and the pace fmic! my car feels the absolute bo***cks! best mod i have put on my car so far for sure it seems to have just put all my mods into place now the car feels like a rocket and only at 1 bar! need to get fueling checked again and mapping gettin done next week at 1.25 bar Not what I was wanting to hear although I always knew this would be the case. Thankfully the group buy has finished, so Phil can't bully me into joining it. But knowing Phil, he'll contact Wayne and let me know that there are a couple left.

Just finished fitting mine this morning before the Cat-and-fiddle meet.
A very well made piece of kit and it fits perfectly in the space available in the front of the car.
Yes, feels a little laggier but stronger at the top. I'm hoping the straight induction pipe will give me some of the low-down back.
Very effective too. After a short blast the turbo-out ally pipe was very warm to the touch but the intercooler exit ally pipe was really quite icy cool! Got to be good!!!
One suggestion (to Wayne) for improvement - make it clearer which of the 90 degree bends should be used where. There was a good 10 mins head scratching, trying out, swearing, removing, head scratching..... Also the hose clips gave liberal amounts of swarf every time they were tightened. Ditch the "kale" brand and get some Jubilee or Terry. Just a thought!

Good point actually - the clips supplied lasted exactly one day before boost hoses started coming off. Beefier set of clips fitted - no worries.

Well its all fitted and running now.
My initial impressions aren't quite as good as Nicks at the top of this thread. I used to run the Pace side mount IC and chargecooler, this is a good setup for an averagely tuned coupe. With the extra length of the PA pipe work the car now feels quite a bit more laggy than it used to. It does feel like its pulling harder at the top end 4000rpm to 6000rpm where the new intercooler is probably less restrictive than the Pace gear but its the initial 0-3000rpm that feels slower.
I guess the Pace stuff had the same length induction path as a standard coupe so anything longer than that will induce lag and less low down torque.
I'm hoping the unichip will pull back some of the torque by running some more advance lower down, should be safe with the extra cooling from the FMIC.
Very well made bit of kit though Oh and this new dump valve sounds like a rally car at light throttle dumps Do you have an SIP as well Jimbo ?

The Pace SMIC was a great unit fro mid range torque but it does seem to run out of puff higher up the rev range.
