fuel machine was broken so they were checkin the fuel by the way the curve was coming out

"Checking" fuelling by looking at the power curve AFTER the run is just plain mad, tells you very little and is asking for an expensive meltdown.

Its a bit like reading your heart rate just as you finish the two hours of treadmill work.

There's NO WAY that any self-respecting RR operator would map an ECU or a chip without a fully functional wideband lambda sensor. Walk away now - this is why your hard earned money has resulted in you losing 30bhp.

I think they more or less do no more than burn you an alternate chip (of which they have 3 or 4 that were defined by the tool's manufacturer). Their system has some facility to make light chip changes, but AFAIK it is mainly oriented towards OBDII cars in which case the system has a bit more flexibility (dependent on car apparently), and engine management systems like ours are primarily supported for 'backwards compatability' if you like.

I spoke to a vendor of the Millenium OBD tool some time ago to discuss it.

ok went to perfect touch yesturday just to make sure the cars alright had it rr'd and all that no knocking nothing and rob there made a few subtle changes and ended up with 336bhp with 1.2 bar boost! and still off the standered chip but for some reason i think those results are a bit obtamistic.

Nick,

What did Perfect Touch do? I've ended up with the std. chip back in my car (after a mix up) but it's fuelling ok (very rich)? I now have a GTEC1 and a GTEC1HF but don't know which is which <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
