Yes.

BTW - my dad works there on a lot of the old cars. So I'll ask him + see what he can do as well!

Anyone fancy going up test hill?

Spoke to my friend at Brooklands Museum,
I need to finalise this next week with them, being a museum they may want a small contribution for use of their facilities. Would people be willing to donate a few quid per car for this pretty good opportunity?? (its for a good cause!)

Definately happy to donate.

Spoke to my friend at Brooklands Museum, they are not hosting anything on the 19th and don’t think it will be a problem to let us come in and use the paddock and a section of the banking. - would make for awesome pics, especially if we get a good turnout.

I am probably not going to make this now due to work commitments. If this changes, then I'll be there, but its doubtful

@ Suba, sorry mate, no lift, but it sounds as if you'll have your car back by then anyway. I may be in contact after though for some help with my settings if you're up for a drive one evening

no probs mate - I may have the car back - but wont have run in the engine or had it mapped I might pop along in the MK2 Golf TDI.....the clouds of smoke out the back if I floor it are quite amusing.

Did you get the install on you greddy sorted? Happy to help you setting it up whenever. I'm not far from the M3 so nice and easy for those 4th gear runs.

All, just in case I can get away from work earlier on Sunday, what are the plans for this?

Metting where and what time?

Then going to what pub when?

I might skip the first meet and drive and just venture to the pub, just like any Sunday really

Well from the power of deduction and whats been said in the thread, we are meeting at brooklands museum in the morning some time, were then going to a pub (indicated on the map) for a bit of lunch, so lunch time

I dont know on times, but reckon the pub would be 1pm-ish?

I can find that bit.

But I see 2 maps on page 1, one for the Rose and Crown in Thorpe and then one for the B2039 in West Horsley

Well i still am a little confused on meet times/places.

Can anyone make 1 simple post stating times and places along with any appropriate links/post codes etc.

It would make it easier for everyone and hopefully maximise the number of people attending.

Indeed, with a map etc...

Cheers

Oh and heavy rain forecast for Sunday - are there bad weather contingency plans?

I thought we were meeting at the Tesco's at around 11am then taking some pictures, having a trundle to the pub for lunch then going for a random drive???

:-D
I do hope the rain holds off as i would like to put some names to faces.

Afternoon peeps! Apologies for being quiet the last few days, however I have just been to meet my friend at Brooklands.

They have no issues with us using the Museum, parking up in the Paddock (sectioned off area at the front) and using the banking and other back drops for photo's.

They have been a little less forthcoming with the discounts though - they are pushing the regular entrance fee with £1 off per person if we top 15 peeps... not amazing to be honest considering we only want to be there for about an hour. Would be £7 per person, £6 if your a student or have your bus pass so I will leave it up to you guys to make the call.

We can use the museum if we fancy it, if not still meet local and invest our saved cash in some extra pub munch

Me again, some peeps asked for maps and stuff. Its not far from the M25/A3 junction (J10) so I have based the following maps around that;

If we meet at brooklands: brooklands

If we meet just outside brooklands there is a pretty quiet road where could mince about till we all get there; wellington way: Wellington Way

a close up of the two roads, they really are right beside each other: Both!

Other than those starting points, I am open to anything.

Begbie, you gonna give the Uno an airing or you want me to pick you up first?

Chertsey in the Thames
All

Given the cost of going into Brooklands and the risk of getting kicked out of Wellington way (over zeleous security ) and the fact that Tescos will be packed.

Can I suggest we all meet at Weybridge Station car park. this is free and empty on a Sunday. If so i will post maps etc.

Meet tim 11am till 12:30

12:30 convoy to Begbies pub suggestion.

Objections?

John

Erm I thought this meet is on Sunday ?????

Bockers has confirmed it's on Sunday, phew

This is good for me - with directions of course - only ever been on the train and fear that using the coop on the rails may not work too well
