Hi all, i was stripping down my wing mirrors yesterday to spray, i found a sensor in the drivers side mirror housing... Does anybody know what it does?

UK cars have 2 way mirrors. The unit is a camera / transmitter to help the cops identify the driver..links with 'other security devices' and adds driver's face to ANPR data in the cop cars...

Its a little known fact but Fiat expected the Coupe to sell far better than it did. The Plan was for a fleet of re-fuelling tankers to patrol the autostradas/autobahns etc and re-fill the car on the move. On continental models the unit is in the left hand mirror and is a combined sensor/fuel coupling unit not unlike an an aircraft system.
Unfortunately the car didn't sell well enough and the Coupe Tanker was cancelled at the protoype stage.
