I got a set of HID from the group buy but have a quick question. Should they flash when switched on? Mine flash very bright when switched on then stay on at a reduced brightness. They are still much brighter than standard bulbs I just wondered if they were supposed to flash.

flash

you mean they start-up almost like a fluorescent lamp fires up, if that's what you mean, then yes, it's fine.

Also, on all HID's, they take a few secs to heat up, then the colour sweetens.

Henc on my old 4300K HIDs, they fire up almost like 6000K, then dim a bit ( or in fact get brighter, but the colour goes less bright blue ).

remember the higher the number, the less light you get

Yeah I guess its like a neon tube....a bright flicker then it evens out to an steady light.

I have 6000K ones which look nice and have a decent light output.
