Only trying to be helpful.

Give up? Not a prayer, matey. In no rush.

Not sure if it's the same one but I saw one in Harlow recently. Said it was a Plus etc. Even had the red stitching on the recaros, red brembos etc. But it was a 6. Like in your case, the bloke wouldn't have it though...

Pearly white's just hit my radar......jeez.

I aint suprised, red stiched recaro's are Plus.

You dont get the red stiching on other models.

No go feel like an idiot and sit in the corner!

Hmmm. Not quite. He'd just chucked some Plus seats in his 6. Swapped the brembos over etc... Did a chassis check. It was only from talking to him that made me think it didn't all quite add up. All a bit tiresome. Dodgy git.

Most chassis numbers and logbooks dont state LE Plus etc etc.

No, correct. I had to delve a bit further than that, mate in the trade etc.

Just shows though. It was only from talking to the guy that I thought something didn't add up.

Could easily have bought it though, spose, notwithstanding. No-one would have spotted it otherwise, in truth. Perhaps I'm the mug.

The shells for the Plus and LE are different.

Very very easy to spot therefore!

Ah, as ever, you've done me. I am but a novice to all this!

Scrabbling around, checking this that and the other out. You should set yourself up as some some sort of authority on Coupe's and charge commensurably. Might save a few less knowledgable a few bob in the long run.

Buy cheap, buy twice, and all that....

The sills are different and there are no bosses for the skirt mountings, thats the most obvious.

There are a couple of other subtle differences, ive got those pictured though, one day when im sad ill post them up.

And Airbag Recaro seat models have a different floor pan, totally different.

Then Plus's have different seatbelts etc etc etc.

Bloody hell. And I thought I was (getting) too anal.

Different seat belts? Floor plans with the infamous recaros?

I've a long long way to go. Good grief.

I could have put that better actually.

Only the Plus and LE shells have the mounts for the skirts fitted to the floor, and these arent available as there spotted to the shell.

The outer sill is different, hence why genuine skirts still dont fit standard models exactly as they should.

Also there are a few differences on the shell, but there silly things, only a saddo would find.

I'm in need of a saddo check list.

Yep there is no way of creating an exact copy, even if you were mental and changed the floors and sills, i can tell you where else fiat altered. Extra gusseting etc etc. Just comes from all the years ive spent sticking em back together!

Now thats sad.

Yup, agreed, that is double sad. Like your style though. I think it's good that someone like you is as blunt, honest and direct about these cars.

So many mis-guided, pre-conceived ideas about them all. My mates think I'm a fcking loon for contemplating one. Still....

All cars are this bad, dont start me on mini's, ill have you outside counting spot welds in apetures quicker than you can say, carl ive found a plus!

You wont get a better car for the dosh, of all the cars ive owned and driven with my job, there isnt anything other than the coupe makes you smile no matter how down you may be

I'd only swap for a 30k+ car, 345/355/911 c4s/tuscan etc etc.

And armed with an AA card and my phone number for parts and Rog at power fiat you will be ok

Interesting list of alternative cars. Whatever one thinks of the list - and it's a cracking one - it goes to show how high you rate a well sorted Coupe. Like it.

I heard at night Carl likes to become one with the car and sits naked in the Airbag Recaros

Just dont crash it Carl as you might have ripped your airbag recaros a new one when they go off

I bet carl would rather be crushed than damage his recaros

Ah its ok, the drivers airbag is faulty anyway. Fiat turned it off apparently 4 years ago.

So the reciepts say!

I have been seen loving them with a bottle of crushed cow (gliptone) at 10pm before!
