Im finally going to upgrade all my bulbs from the boring dull yellow ones.

I'm thinking of going for buy the Phlips Blue Vision for the mains and dipped.

And the 4 led ultrawhite for the side lights.

Has anyone got any combinations which really work, advice would be appreciated.

Tony

I'd recommend HIDS. They're are some good deals going round.

I bought my LED side lights from dashlights.co.uk and after originally buying the 4LED versions (which only lasted a month) they exchanged them for a 3LED version which seems to be working out better.

I agree with kenno, i uprated my bulbs to PIAA high wattage ones with only a slight improvement, then i went the whole hog and got a HID conversion from HIDS4YOU. best lights ive ever had. and now only about £100 and easy to fit.

£100 that isn't bad at all.

Think i'm gonna go for the cheap n easy option 1st, got a list of other things I want to do aswell which is going to cost.

go for illegal for road rally bulbs for the dips mate. 100w IIRC and make a decent difference. mine did not last too long though, about 1yr. but i run all day with them on so maybe thats why?

Might try Osram Silver Stars in the dipped and 100W's in the main. They run very hot so I wouldn't have them in the dipped side.

HID is the way to go. Other thing to do first is get your halagens adjusted...makes a serious difference if they are out of alignment.

main beam is fine though? wouldn't bother upgrading those personally. dip for me is where i find it impossible to see. 100w phillips rally bulbs never damaged the headlights or surounding area. cables fine, but plugs a bit brittle, more through old age i think agree that hid will be best, but as a cost

Some pics of my HID's from I8AV8 and the matching coloured LED indicators Bockers put me onto. I'm very pleased with the result I have to say! it's modernised the coop's front end a tad.

Cheers for that. Any idea where I can get the Philips Rally bulbs? Autobulb direct?

Yes they should work.. Remember Diodes only work in one direction.. so you may have put them in the wrong way round.

OMG i cant beleive my bad luck then. I put those bulbs in and out about 4 or 5 different times. To put them in the wrong way round EVERY TIME is just obsurd but thats exactly what happened.

Put them in again, one was instantly the right way round, turned the other over and bingo LED lights

Hi

Rather than if you should change to HID I guess you're asking if there's a bulb swap you can do to brighten things up? If so...

Just changed my standard halogens for some Halfords "Super Brilliance" bulbs (£14.99 each buy one get one free at the mo) What a difference! Noticiably brighter and whiter light instantly!

A recommend from me now the nights are drawing in!

(AND they're road legal! )

i imagine they do, but tbh if you can afford it go HID,a normal bulb cant match them imho. G
