Nearly a year with my blower now after 18 months of n/a ownership and been looking at petrol consumption.

This is my graph

I'd like to know if

a) There's anyone else out there sad enough to log these figures?
b) Are the figures normal (#1)?

#1 Apart from the last tank all the other 3 times I got over 25mpg were with the other half (who of course I look after ) in the car on holiday (the back to back 27/29mpg tanks were on the way to from the peak meet). The last tank I put down to dodgy weather conditions for spanking the car...whoops I meant using it as intended whilst driving to and from work.

Up yours Photobucket.

I generally get 24-25 mpg. Mainly driving to work & back (6 mile each way).
Summertime it goes down to 22mpg when stuck behind vans, lorries, mopeds, old people, learners, people that can't drive & the odd tractor that needs to be on the road at 8 am.
Being stuck behind these it's a bit on/off the go pedal which kills my fuel consumption.

Wishy you could probably have overtaken KP as top poster if you hadn't been wasting your time logging fuel consumption

I thnk your graph illustrates what we already know. You get between 22 and 27 mpg out the coop, except on a good day when you might get 29

Interestingly i have the original 20v/turbo Fiat Coupe sales brochure and Fiat state the following for fuel consumption:

20v / 20v turbo

Urban 20.2mpg / 19.6mpg
Extra urban 38.7mpg / 37.2mpg
Combined 28.8mpg / 28.0mpg

Hmmm........anyone ever achieved these figures???

Everyone else has as much right to be on the roads at 8am as you...especially tractors as the summer's quite an important time for farmers

6 miles is a lovely distance to cycle especially in the summer - I do around 5 each way and it can be as quick as driving here Oooh, and the mpg is fantastic

If mpg is a problem, get a diesel

My range is 28 - 32 mpg with the odd excursion above or below if pushing it or bimbling along when on holiday.

I haven't a clue what my mpg is and don't care either

If I was going to worry about fuel costs, I wouldn't have bought a Coupe

It's worth every drop of fuel it uses in my opinion

Theresa beat me to it in this thread, but I've said it before - if you're even slightly concerned about fuel consumption, other than to diagnose a fault, then you own the wrong car.

I agree with those sentiments, I'm not worried about fuel costs per se I'm just wondering how my mpg stacks up against the average (and of course if anyone else is sad enough to log it all).

It looks like mine if pretty normal but it then makes me curious as to how KP can go down to 14.5mpg and how MrF and Paul_20VT get such good figures.

Edited to add
LOL @ Nigel. Would I be correct in guessing that your single figure one involved some form of race track?

Mine drops so low as i think that was the time where i was doing something silly like 10 days straight on late shifts with work so i was bimbling the few miles at no more than 50mph in one or two sections for a short period and nipping into town. it could be seen as real city driving to be honest

Thats all on LPG as well which is a bit worse than Petrol but so much cheaper and that was a time where i was never that light with the loud pedal. probably doing much better now to be honest if i sat and worked it out as i have covered over 1100miles now on 2 and a bit tanks of petrol

You definantly have far to much time on your hands to be making graphs like that

I must admit i check and have acheived 40mpg on a 500 one tank trip I am not concerned about the MPG for economy stakes but find it interesting that a 150mph car can do so well.

Of course I had to top up the oil in that 500 mile trip

If they pay road tax of course. Which I don't think tractors do. Also they burn agricultural diesel, which means they don't make a tax contribution there either.

I seem to recall tractors are allowed on the road for a max of 50 miles in the year to qualify for tax free status. Given the distance I've followed some tractors, they obviously only venture out 3 or 4 times a year. Or the farmer is kicking the arse out of it So it would appear they don't have as much right to be on the road at 0800 as I do.

I dont care. I fill it up, and when it gets near empty again, I divert past my friendly local Optimax (or whatever it is now) eporium and fill up.

i get 230 miles to a full tank

which compared to some findings on here before that is bad!

i mean i have been driving around easy for the past two weeks due to the new engine and i still cant get anywhere near 300miles to a tank!

(sorry i dont work in mpg)

what do others get in tank/ mile form???

I haven't got the tank figures kept but 230ish is pretty much what I run normally so equates to the 23ish mpg I usually get.

Is your 230 run to dry or until just as the light comes on?

If it's just to light then the figures aren't much different to mine. The only times I've got over 25 mpg are when I've been "driving like Miss Daisy" with the other half in the car over a long journey.

Miss Daisy can't drive I know what you mean though. My 40mpg best was a 500 mile round trip in the sleet with Miss Daisy sleeping in the passenger seat, only to awake if the needle passed 65

Does your Miss Daisy dribble in her sleep?

LOL no she doesn't really sleep (a bit like a cat being always on guard just in case) properly when I'm driving. I feel I'm a bit better off than you as my Miss Daisy wake up alarm doesn't go off until above 85mph.
