Getting a company car in the next few weeks so am looking at selling my 98 red 20VT.

It's done 59K, there's a few marks on the bumpers and some wheel kerbing but on the positive it's got climate and black leather.

It's due a service and tonight started to get some smoke after idling in traffic for about ten minutes.

Any idea what would it be worth without getting the service and problem sorted and what if I do?

Had the belts done about 10K ago.
V.good tyres, fronts replaced less than 1k ago.
Have red key.
Unmodified apart from K&N (have original).

£3k sounds about right in its current state.

I'd say high 3's, i.e £3995 ono. Low mileage examples are hard to find and it does have A/C and leather.

Will give it a wash, take some photos and put them on the for sale forum at the weekend.

4k with a shot turbo and needing a service!

3k at a push but i dont hold much hope selling with a turbo problem at even 3k.

I reckon it would be worth sorting out a decent turbo and getting it serviced before selling it. I think you will struggle to sell it otherwise.

If I need to get it serviced I will, that's no big expense really.
Apparently fitting a turbo is a DIY job so if I really have to it may be worth doing with a decent used one.

The only reason I'm selling and was hoping not to have to do the work is through lack of time.
I've been working in London and getting the train. Now my new company's giving me a car in the next few weeks so the coupe has to go.

Am booking it in tomorrow for a full service where I will get the turbo checked out along with a report of anything else that needs doing.

Will get the ad posted on Sunday or whenever I get "permission to post" there?.... Will also be putting it on pistonheads and a couple of other sites.
