I think Greenlight require either 3 or 4 years NCB before they'll offer cover.

They wouldn't quote for me either.

Dear monos, a secret truth.

So??? Doesn't mean they'll insure any coupe regardless of age/postcode etc parameters? \:\? If they don't like you as a risk for whatever reason they don't have to insure you...did you call up and ask why they wouldn't quote?

Try Noel Dazely/Adrian Flux etc instead...Greenlight couldn't get near ND's quote for me

Hi Guys

Just to confirm we can cover drivers aged 21 and over, we require a minimum of 1 years NCB.

We can cover all types of modifications.

If we cannot quote we will send a reply e-mail stating the reason why and suggesting another company to try who may be able to help.

There are some postcode sectors that our insurers excluded us from quoting......so this could of been the reason for us not being able to quote??

Best Regards
Neil

I've been with greenlight for 2 years now, and have found them more than competitive. With all my mods declared (long list) they cover me for around 700 quid on agreed value policy with 3 pts, 4 years no claims aged 29. they are well worth a look.

When it comes round to next year mate I would expect it to drop down to around £550-£600 with the agreed value as our claims statistics on the Fiat Coupe are still really good.

What about when the insurance groupings change?

This will surely have the opposite effect to cost?

Just wanted to add my two penn'orth and say I found Greenlight the best for my Coop also.

I called loads of insurers originally, but lots were confused because I still had use of a company car at the time.
All the insurance companies that just worked off a script couldn't accept the NCD earned on the company car. All the ones that would accept it, couldn't accept it until after I'd given the company car back. Greenlight were much more flexible, allowing me a little overlap.

Highly recommended - If they'll take you ;\)

must be a fairly recent thing because i was insured with greenlight on my 20vt with only 2 years ncb, think is most likely to be the guys age as alot of insurence companies have kittens with 22 year olds with high insurence gp cars \:\)

Greenlight wont insure me either just got a letter that they wont renew! Therefore, One 2 owner 1999 (T) plate le black for sale. I still have a real hate about insurance and the coupe, it is still a farce they bone us every year. Why would you buy a thrashed early car for £1500 and then pay the same on insurance. I think this car is destined to be driven by old people that don’t even use it for more than 2000 miles a year and most of that is looking for Viagra. (sorry very bitter, wanted this car since 1994 when a school trip to the motorshow turned up a cracker, oh well has any one got a rubbish, slow and gay car they will sell me?)

I used to be insured with Greenlight but they would not insure me after I moved house because of my postcode. Ironically the insurer I moved to classified my postcode as by no means the worst they would insure. Also it was bizarre that moving from a council estate and parking on my drive to moving to a purpose-built flat with parking off road and private (no possibility of public access) yielded me a 900 quid increase in premium. But I suppose the postcode is all they go off.

post codes are annoying.because i like in a wakefield postcode area even though im 10 miles from wakefield and in my village there isnt many cars stolen i,i get chanrged alot more for insurence because wakefiled is considered a high risk area but what can you do apart from move? \:\(

No not at all, the groupings change will not effect how we price the Fiat Coupe Turbo.

The wider groupings just means it gives a more detailed rating structure for cars. At the moment things like the Subaru Impreza WRX STi fall into a group 20, this is the same group rating as a ferrari 355.

By expanding the groupings it will make it easier to propertly clarify vehicles.

Also on modified cars our insurers often rate on the BHP as opposed to the actual ABI group rating.

I couldnt insure as hardly anywhere but HIC would quote me with having mods, LPG, and agreed valuation and limited miles under £1500 and got it £750 this year, was 23 at the time, 4 yrs NCB and a WA postcode.

Wonder if it will go down if i changed it to the mrs postcode and put her on??

Anywhere online that shows a risk level to each postcode at all as i think it should be some form of public knowledge?

Maybe thieves could use it then to even them all out some more \:D
