this has probably been posted, but i havent been on here for nearly 3 months, (trying to remain undestracted from my honours project but finaly cant resist)
looks quite interesting tho 102 octane point fuel from BP
Then fill some jerrycans with aviation fuel (MON 100). Best is the one with blue color, The green is of equal quality but contains less lead. (yes, it's leaded fuel so doesn't work well on cars with a cat)
Mix that up 50/50 with regular 98RON and there you go, RACE FUEL!!
surely this is all a waste unless you have your car mapped to take advantage of the extra octane? I watched demos at the Autosport show where BP did just that to show what could be gained, but the Coupe ECU isn't intelligent and does not adapt to better quality fuel in the same way that say an Impreza one does
If you can run switchable maps by any means, then using the 102 would give the advantage once you had created a map for it
For the same ignition advance it will produce more power I expect given that the majority of other race fuels do. This is slightly different to most race fuels though in that it is road legal and that means it probably is a lot safer to run on a normal car than real race fuels (that usually have higher oxygen content and so run lean on a normal setup)
Noticed there is now a place in Egham that sells it so I might try it out !
