Coupe MOT tomorrow...wish her luck as I'm skint and would like to avoid costly repairs. Being done by good local garage as well as a small service -no time to get to a specialist (and I was rather disorganised in booking her in )

The rear brakes should be fine - had new discs, pads and compensator thingy last year Slightly worried about the handbrake as the car had a roll a while back I think there was an advisory on rusty brake pipes last year, I don't use the car much so this may be an issue. Ref sellling, no, have decided to keep as I can't afford to upgrade...the punto is for sale however and will go back to the coupe plus pushbike

I've been living in Cyprus since November 2005 and out here all you do is give the garage £20Cy, they take it away, give it back 30 mins later with the MOT certificate every time, i've not known anyone to fail and there are some wrecks on the road out here, plus the MOT lasts for 2 years.
Even a full service on a 2 litre Petrol 4x4 (LWB 2000 RAV4) only cost me £45Cy.
how much is the average MOT in the UK these days?

Nothing but new wiper blades, bill of £165 for MOT and service which is about the smallest car bill I've ever had Still got rusty rear brake pipe and a split exhaust rubber Still need to get the AC sorted but doesn't appear to be the compressor (so there may well be a second hand one in parts for sale soon ) Pub meet tbc...

Those rusty rear brakes lines is a fun job to do. Dependant on which pipe it is can vary in cost, but look at about £15 a pipe and a pain to do as it goes over the rear subframe and into the brake compensator
Your car is Usain Bolt with wellies

If it was that difficult a job wouldn't Keith have done it last year when he changed all of the other rear brake bits including the compensator?
