Ah well its been short lived fun frown

Gearbox has started leaking (thanks for the expensive clutch change guys) but worse the engine suddenly started smoking badly on friday when you start it up.

Dipstick confirms levels have dropped so I guess engines on way out.

The bodys in a state where its not worth fixing so ill probably have to run it till it gets really bad then chop out the good parts and find a cheap run about.

Its a shame since I was enjoying the car.

To be honest not sure what to do, im ultra skint for a while after some crap with debts....and cars funnily enough.

Im probably just annoyed just now...

Its just not worth spending more than 200-300 on it otherwise just be as well getting a run about until I can afford a minter (middle of next yr)

Spend £100 on a proper cover and park it up till you have the cash.

Driveshaft seals are not too bad. I had them done on my 1st 20VT and it was only about £350 from a Fiat main stealer (I know!!!!!I was young and innocent then!)

Nice to hear that Carl doesn't just chop chop!!

He has a heart after all!

Symptoms would almost certainly be turbo seals. Common wear item. Changing the turbo is a DIY job if you know your way round a bag of spanners. Depending on the state of it, it's anything from about £150 to £400 for a recon unit, or you could keep an eye out on here for a S/H one.

Well just back from a fantastic holiday in Egypt - really was the best.

Anyway big puddle of gearbox oil under the car frown. Thanks for the all the positive comments but I think best thing is just to cut it loose. I can cycle to work for a while and save up for a bit.

Not sure whether to just stick in on ebay or try and break and few bits off and sell them separate....problem being of course im up in Highlands which is a PITA for selling bits

Well I just bought another car so im open to offers - its got some new parts worth pulling off like the oil cooler and pipes, engine head is probably good (it had good oil pressure).

Not sure how far it would drive though
