What do you guys reckon it would make to the asking price of a car? and do you think it would make resale much harder if it was cloth?

I should think a couple of hundred quid...resale wise, if the car is in good condition, has service history etc, I don't think cloth will really affect resale especially as coupes get older, have more miles and drop in value

Lack of aircon appears to be more of an issue if people really want it, as it cannot easily be retro fitted, whereas leather seats can.

I personally prefer cloth to the standard slippy, rather unsupportive leather. Recaros are a different matter entirely - they will boost value, even the LE interior ...

If you find the perfect car with cloth, go for it - if you desperately want leather, there were several sets of leather fronts for sale

You will find a slight diff in price for cars without leather - for the simple reason that most people would prefer a car to have it (same goes for air con).

If you lack leather or air con, you'll have a smaller target market to sell your car to (as those people that want both will be put off and wont even consider your car - I was myself).

The standard front seats (leather or not) are sh1te. If you bought a car without leather (but with Air con), then got some decent front black leather seats (like the group buy seats) you will be able to pick up a rear bench from a broken coupe without too much trouble. And you'd be onto a winner, as you paid less for the car in the first place compared to one with leather.

Try to test drive both with cloth & leather (different speeds & driving conditions) and see which you prefer...go for whichever that is and worry about resale later

S1MMA - I like that suggestion. The Plus Recaros are nice but it'll take too long to find one of those .....

the standard leather did get quite cold, although the group buy recaro's leather has a more grainy effect to it, and surprisingly doesnt get that cold strangely.

here's how they look rufus:

yeah, go for it if everything else is right.

If you want air con (I'd recommend it) then you have to find one with it on, retrofitting it is impracticle due to time it would take and cost. Leather can always be sorted though.
