My tax disc sits in a black unti which has a wire coming out of it. Sure I recall a a conversation about this before. I'll try and post a picture

At a guess that might be a booster aerial for using a phone in the car - they were around a few years ago.

As you can see there is a spring clip which holds the tax disk plate

Much better solution than other tax disk holders and keeps the screen uncluttered.

Isn't there, at this point, always the discussion abotu whether that is a legal position to put your tax?

The tax disk has to be on the drivers side front window and not obsure view of the road. It fits that perfectly

In fact to quote the government own guidelines
"You must display this disc on the left-hand side of the vehicle's windscreen.

So it is legal
