the only way Flea, would be to take apart an OEM ign coil & see what's beneath the potting compound, to see if the coil can handle some increased power fed to it. I assume it comes directly from the ECU, so you would need some amplifier inbetween ? Maybe a simple voltage stepup to each coil pack ?

Torquemaster sells uprated (yellow) coils for the 16VT. Maybe drop them an e-mail if they exist for 20VT engines, you never know.

I am running some amplifiers but don't think they are compatible with the std ECU.

How have you defined a coilpack as letting go Flea? Is it just by a misfiring and checking the plug to be fine and then swapping the coilpack out?? I have spares if you need any more at your current rate of use I was looking at some iridiums for my coupe as i want to go single electrode to help the LPG burn better and Iridium do long life version of the IK plugs, VK22 but i couldnt find anywhere interested in getting me stock

The TorqueMaster lot don't have anything for the 20vt at the moment.
Interesting point Begbie, I mentioned coil packs to Simon Norris and he said they have never had one let go so the oem stuff is obviously very good. Evos have a coil per 2 cylinders (at least they do on a e6). Other than that I think you may need to look to Europe rather than Japan for a solution as you would need one that is compatible with the Bosch Motronic ECUs. Something like a 996 or 997 turbo or Audi RS4/6 or similar would be a better bet IMHO. KP - get the NGK iridium they're better than the denso ones IMHO. Barbz sells them BTW. John

FWIW, at hig temps, durations, the central tips of the denso's are known to fall out, causing serious bore wear rememberm, these tips aren't your usual platinum coated stuff which can break up, the iridium stuff is hard as nails

BKR6EIX, BKR7EIX, BKR8EIX They are the ones i can find that obviously get Hotter(or is it Colder??) as the number gets higher Im running BKUR7ET's a the minute and have tried the 6ET's as well but the multi electrode isnt for me i feel and singl electrode is the better way to go as you guys have found and shown

bigger the number the colder the plugs. I've used BKR8EIX with not issues.
