Took the car to the rollers today and got 298whp@5000rpm and 344lbs@3800rpm. Not bad as im still using the stock ECU with the evocars chip, stock internals and stock cams. Boost spikes at 1.5bar and holds 1.3bar to the redline. This means the flywheel figure should be around 330-340hp ? Also did a 12.716s 1/4mile time with Mickey Thompson ET Drag slicks so im very pleased with the performance at the moment. I will post the dyno graph as soon as it is emailed to me.

Ragnar

Didn't log AFR but according to my WB display it's around 13.0-13.1 up to 3000rpm when on boost it gets quite rich 11.2-11.5 from 3000-5500rpm and from 5500rpm it goes from 11.5-12.3 at the limiter. I still use stock injectors but walbro 255lph fuel pump and fuel pressure is slightly higher then stock.

I was gonna say you should come to TOTB but then I saw you're in Tallinn. Lovely city, went there 2 years ago for a stag weekend! Is Club X still going strong?

Didn't see any Coupes when I visited though \:\(

Hi Ragnar,

Excellent result, especially 1/4 mile \:\) . What was your terminal speed? I guess 176 - 180 km/h...

You should come to Finland 2.6.2007, we have 1/4 mile run in Alastaro (app. 200 km North-East from Helsinki) for everyone \:\) , 5 euros / run. We are going to go there with my friend to beat your time \:\) \:\) . We are also going to have Hoosier DOT approved drag tires, if only they managed to come from USA in time \:\) .

That's a LOT of torque that early in the rev range! \:D

That's one of the main benefits of a long stroke engine like the 16VT...

Terminal speed 175kmh. Only problem now is the boostcontroller, if i could only get the wastegate to hold 1.4-1.5bar the car would be way faster. Spikes to 1.5bar so the midrange is absolutely mad \:\) but drops off near the limiter. What I really need is a standalone ECU and bigger injectors. So far so good... stock internals have held up pretty good. Nothing has failed yet.

Im a bit worried on crossing the border with a 2.5'' free flowing exhaust. A friend of mine was sent back from the port because his car was too loud \:s I also promised my brother id go and visit him sometime during the summer so id get both done if i would come. The only bad thing is if the car brakes down in Finland I'd have to tow it back home \:D

Hi Ragnar,

Let's hope the best \:\) . Let's also hope that the weather is in our side.

Brake down is always the risk, with we live every day \:\) .

My drag tires (Hoosier DOT) should be today here in Finland \:\) .

Is the Alastaro track glued ? I'll post a topic at http://www.turboclub.ee and maybe some other Estonian guys would also like to come and race on a decent track. We don't have any drag strips in Estonia but only lousy old airfields.

Not for this event, but they had a championship drag race two weeks ago, so the track itself is very clean with new rubber on it. Next sunday will be also quatermile run in Alastaro, so the track will be in very good condition 02.06.2007 \:\) .
Alastaro is the best possible track for high power cars to achieve good times.
Here is the link for the race:
http://www.fhra.fi/info/20070602_v8.html
Here is a link to the very specific real time data of the Alastaro track. These information will be updated "online" every 1 hour:
http://personal.inet.fi/koti/virttaan.harjureitti.saatiedot/saaasema/CurrentAlastaroCircuit.htm

Hopefully some of your friends understand Finnish. If not please let me know and I will inform the rules and necessary equipments for the happening.

There has been no interest because there's a drag event the same time in Tallinn, although 1/8mile. For me it's cheaper to race in Tallinn then in Alastaro so I'll pass this time but feel free to send me a PM on any following drag events in Alastaro \:\) Voit vapaasti puhua suomeksi kyllä mä ymmärrään \:\)

I participated in a streetrace/drag event this weekend and won \:\) To be honest there wasnt any competition... second place Supra that did 14.4s and third and S4 that did 13.9s \:\) After that I noticed some blue smoke but the car drove fine... did a compression test today at work and what i found out was that cylinder1 8.4 cylinder2 8.4 cylinder3 8.2 and cylinder4 0 compression \:\) I guess that the rings have gone on cylinder4. No wonder because the engine has never been rebuilt all the internals are factory originals only some headwork done and mileage is 200006km \:\) Full rebuild will follow with forged internals and fast road cams and the engine will probably go into a Fiat 131 Racing if i can find a decent one. 131 because it's lightweight and rwd.

hm,

bad luck!
don't forget to shop around for a new (or low mileage) crankshaft. Mine had 180Kkm and crank was fcuked, pistons, rings etc were fine...
