The Malay coupes will live forever in myth..Often spotted but always in the distance by the girlfriends brother or second cousin twice removed.

I did go to Malaya and put a deposit down..beautiful white with leather and all the extras. However there is a problem with the papers. Either Fiat weren't paid originally or the coupes aren't actually owned by the seller..export paperwork not in order. Also our Irish Revenue/Customs weren't exactly helpful with the process at my end.
Real problem comes with emissions. Coupe didn't pass Euro3 which was one of the reasons why Fiat stopped building them. If you have have a new car/new plate then it has to meet Euro4 emissions..not a chance.

I came back through Paris Airport CdeG and them Frenchies were having a huge security panic..for some reason all the cameras from the all passengers were seized and the films taken..dunno what they did about digital cameras. Cost me half my holiday pictures (undeveloped in the camera & 5 rolls of 35mm). The security guys weren't in a mood to discuss the situation and there was an armed squaddie standing a few feet away so I wasn't arguing. One of the rolls had my coupe pictures

That group of new Coupes that have been discussed on here a while back appear to have found a new home.
A "Wheeler Dealer" in Sydney is supposedly bringing 10 of them into Australia and selling them, fully complianced for Australia, for A$50,000 (approx 20,000 squids) with a A$10,000 deposit required. I've heard 4 have been "sold" already.
Will keep you informed as I hear of anything. Hi possum... I may be migrating next year, was even thinkin of taking the coupe..wonder if would get it in or not

Once in Australia does it become any easier to import them into the UK?
