Has anybody ever tried taking the first silencer off the oe exaust? Just wonderd how much difference to noise and performance it might make just to have a straight pipe there?

would be a tad more noisy I suppose, oddly enuf I had to recently fit another silencer onto my 3" system, it was so noisy my head used to ring, god knows what pedestrians thought crazy

the rear box on the coop IIRC is a baffle type, so this still has good silencing properties smile

I've removed the mid box and fitted the proper supersprint pipe replacement (stupid of me, as I recal paying over 100euro for it 4 yrs ago!, just for a fcuking piece of pipe grr )
Not much difference in noise, but with stock ecu (which I'm sure is rather rare in here) I had a small prob with lost torque low down.

I am in the process of doing similar, I have a shed full of stainless straight through silencers, bits of pipe and stainless back boxes. Was going to replace both backbox and mid box..
