I've been trying to find an insurance company that will cover me for a few weeks on a modified coupe, but all the ones I could find say in their T&Cs that the car must not have any aftermarket performance mods. Has anyone managed to find temp cover for a modified car before, or is the only way to take an annual one and cancel it shortly after?

be careful going down the cancellation route, could get stung...why do you only need a short policy?

i'm young, only been driving a year, and just bought a coupe. in a month i'll have 1 year experience and NCD (hopefully) on my fiesta, and i'll be a year older. got quotes from adrian flux, if i wait a month it will be around £1500, if i took out an annual policy now it would be more like £5000!

the coops currently down my mums drive, i'm not leaving it on the street outside my house. i just want to drive it now!

I know this sounds like a stupid idea and I'd bet I would have real problems doing it, but why not wait the month?

Reading your quotes, if you wait a month it'll save you £3.5k?

I reckon if someone offered me £3.5k to drive a Fiesta for a month I could do it.............just!

HIC do short term policies. Do modifications too.
