According to this morning's news, the FIA are investigating MacLaren after Sunday's "race".

They are being investigated for enforcing team orders! A comment made by Ron Dennis after implied that Lewis was told not to overtake!

if you were the boss of a f1 team and getting the cars and drivers home in one piece and picking up those all valuable points was the aim then i think ron dennis got it right.
there was no team orders upto the second pitstop, every man for himself so to speak. hamilton could have become a lose cannon if he'd have kept trying to win on the final stint. as a spectator it was kinda boring to watch but monaco is!
if it was my team id be happy thet we have an englishman in the battle for the championship and that the two team mates didnt take each other out on the final 20 laps.
goodluck lewis hamilton! (sorry about the rant)

I'd love to see wheel to wheel racing up to the end of the race but at this stage of the season there's no way that will happen between team mates. Mclaren don't know how long their pace will last ahead of the continual improvements from other teams and they need to reap as many points as they can. Seeing the two Mclarens bouncing and sliding round the chicane in the middle sector was awesome.
Sad to say, I think Alonso had the measure of Hamilton this time - he set enough faster laptimes to convince Mclaren that team orders should come into play after the second pit stop. Thats just my take on the situation, but if it is true I think Ron Dennis did right.

I agree, Ron Dennis had no choice! WOuld ahve been to much of a risk to the team. F1 is after all a team sport! If it had been like ferrari when rubens gave way to schumacher then sure, punish the hell out of them. We had no way of knowing if Lewis would have past Fernando!

According to this morning's news, the FIA are investigating MacLaren after Sunday's "race". Ferrari did that 1579283 billion times... well.. maybe not that much... Anyone remember Rubens Barrichelo allowing Schumacher to pass on Austria on 2002 ? here on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdzu-fqrWxQ*it's in Portuguese, but the images are enough *Barrichelo sucks...

Just got back from Monaco, the place is awesome. I walked around the track one evening and there are so many Ferraris, Porsche carrera GT's, Lambos, even saw a Spyker road car. Oh and got blind drunk on the redbull energy station which took up a 7 barges in the Harbour. The sound of the Fezzas, blipping throttles and generally fast driving by the locals was a sight and sound to be seen. Think a black 599gtb has now gone straight to the top of my wish list. But one of the best sights was a Moon grey plus mixing it with the big boys in Monaco. Fiat managed to get it so right with this car. I still love mine even after 5 years of coop ownership. Did you get to watch the race too? I've been to Monaco three times now, but haven't had chance to watch the racing as yet.

It's a team race not an individual race. Therefore as boring as it may be, which is why I no longer watch it, I can't see what's wrong with Ron Dennis saying don't overtake if we're still going to come first and second. Why risk loosing both cars when the team will still get all the points and the person who is #1 in the team gets the most points.

I am the sparkie for Rubens car @ Honda f1. Yes I know this years car is rubbish ;-) but at least he has beaten Jenson in every race so far. I thought Honda were going to be up there this year. Think they will do better in the next 2 GPs, as will Ferrari.... Dave
