I'm after a new bonnet having clipped a deer and dented mine on the crease at the front. Sods law says that one in the right colour (Ink Black) comes up on ebay here, but is dented and scratched so needs a re-con.
Hs anyone any idea how much I would be looking for someone to pull out the dents and re-spray it (assuming the dents aren't creased etc)?

Yeh, they do encroach the creases don't they.. Typical, the 1st ink black bonnet I've ever seen up for sale and it's dented!

Ok cheers for the help Nelly.

Has anyone a rough idea of the cost of respraying an entire bonnet?

Can range from £200 - £500 depanding on where you take it and what sort of finish you want.

I would expect to pay about £300 (+vat) and be 99% happy with the finish....

With a already painted bonnet they will still have to prep it and a painted bonnet will take a bit longer to prep than one in primer that is ready to rub straight away.

I would wait/save for a new one.... you get a better finish and pay about the same as getting this one sorted....

I had a bonnet respray including a debadge and some touch-up work on the boot lid and it was only £170. The paint finish is first class and I cannot tell it's had a respray (apart from the missing badge of course). The garage was recommended by Dave and he was spot on, sadly they don't have a spray shop there anymore.

Dont get me wrong there are some very good and cheap spray shops out there... there also a hell of a lot of bad expensive ones. But to almost gaurentee (SP) a good job I personally would pay about £300.

Thanks Julian. I think I'm gonna hang on and see if an ok one comes up in the right colour though. Mine's not a massive dent (but unforunately unrepairable) so I can live with it for the mo..
